LTI 1.3 Integration with Moodle

Registering LTI 1.3 Tool
LTI 1.3 and LTI Advantage Services are only available on Moodle version 3.8 and above

  1. Go to Site Administration → Plugins → Activity Modules → External Tool → Manage Tools

  2. On the Manage Tools screen, select Configure a Tool Manually

  3. A form will appear with different sections. Fill the sections as outlined below.

    1. Tool Settings:
      1. Tool name: BibliU LTI 1.3
      2. Tool URL: bibliu.com (bibliu.co on staging)
      3. Tool Description: BibliU Course Materials
      4. LTI Version: LTI 1.3
      5. Public key type: Keyset URL
      6. Public keyset: https://bibliu.com/users/lti/jwks/[ID BibliU will provide to you]
      7. Initiate login URL: https://bibliu.com/users/lti/initialise-login
      8. Redirection URI(s): https://bibliu.com/users/lti
      9. Custom parameters: Leave blank
      10. Tool configuration usage: Show as preconfigured tool when adding an external tool
      11. Default launch container: Embed, without blocks
      12. Supports Deep Linking (Content-Item Message): Unchecked
      13. Content selection URL: Leave blank
    2. Services:
      1. IMS LTI Assignment and Grade Services: Do not use this service
      2. IMS LTI Names and Role Provisioning: Do not use this service
      3. Tool Settings: Do not use this service
    3. Privacy
      1. Share launcher's name with tool: Always
      2. Share launcher's email with tool: Always
      3. Accept grades from the tool: Always
    4. Miscellaneous
      1. Organisation ID: Leave blank
      2. Organisation URL: Leave blank

  4. Click the Save Changes button.

  5. A new tool should appear on the tools list. Click the button to get the values you will need to send back to BibliU.

  6. Send these values to your contact at BibliU. We will then finish configuring the tool in our platform.
